Kirsty Powell: 2026 Autumn Residency

Kirsty has published two novels – part historical novels and part contemporary and has published short stories and poems in anthologies. She won the 2020 New Zealand Book Lovers Award for best adult fiction.

Whilst on her residency Kirsty is delighted to be writing up a storm – she is working on a non-fiction biography of Captain David Rough – the first Auckland harbour master – 1840 to 1855.
