Accommodation for Visiting Writers

The centre has a second bedroom which is let at a modest rate to writers who need a quiet place to work. The accommodation is for a single writer, so there are only two writers in the house at any time.

The room has a double bed, ensuite bathroom, desk, WiFi and all linen is supplied. The kitchen, lounge and laundry facilities are shared with the writer-in-residence. A parking space is available.

Pantry basics are available for writers to use. The house is close to public transport and there is a supermarket within walking distance.

2026 Rates

Bookings are based on a weekly rate and start on a Monday with check-in from 1pm and the room must be vacated by 10am on the Monday of departure. We need to make special arrangements for late arrivals (after 5 pm), so please let us know in advance if this is required.

A deposit is required in advance to secure the booking. Payment can be by bank transfer or credit card.  Use the enquiry form below or email administrator@writerscentre.org.nz for availability.
