The Michael King Writers Centre Announces Recipient of International Exchange With Shanghai

We are very happy to announce that Shilo Kino (Ngāpuhi, Ngāti Maniapoto, Ngāti Te Ata), has been selected to join the Shanghai Writers' Association's International Writing Programme 2025.

Shilo will join writers from eight other countries for two months in Shanghai in September and October this year.

Past New Zealand exchange recipients since 2014 include Alison Wong, Heidi North Bailey, Frances Edmond and Melinda Szymanik. Chinese writers hosted at MKWC since 2013 include Huo Yan, Xiao Bai, Yin Jian Ling, Sun Wei and Danyan Chen.
